GMAT Eligibility Criteria 2021

There’s no GMAT eligibility criteria 2021 set by GMAC for taking the exam. But, when it comes to GMAT Exam eligibility, some basic criterias need to be kept in mind before applying for the exam. Let’s take a look at what those are. 

  • Nationality – You can take the exam, regardless of your nationality, there are no restrictions as such. However, you have to produce a valid ID card  at the time of the exam. Also, remember ID requirements vary from one country to another. Therefore, it is important to go through the ID requirements before applying for the exam.
  • Age – For the GMAT exam, the minimum age limit is 13 years. However, if you are between 13-17 years, you will need a permission letter from your parents or legal guardian. If you’re 18 and above, no permission letter is needed. 
  • Academic Qualification – You don’t need to have a degree in any specific field for taking the GMAT test. You can either be a working professional or a final-year student. Having said that, the GMAT exam is open to you all, even if you are none of the above. 
  • Number of Attempts – You cannot take the exam more than five times in a year. Also, there is to be a 16 days gap at least between your retakes. Moreover, if you have managed to get a perfect 800 score, you cannot take the exam for the next five years. And, your lifetime limit is eight. 
  • Work Experience – Work experience is not required for taking the GMAT. You can take the exam even if you are not working. However, some relevant work experience most often helps during the admission process.
